Freezer Repair Service Tips
Sometimes using a professional refrigerator and freezer repair service can be quite expensive; which is why we have written this article to show that some repairs can be done without professional help. Some of the most common issues are quite easy to fix. All it takes is time and a few simple directions.
When your refrigerator or freezer fails to work after it has been moved, the problem could be a loose wire. Unplug the main power cord, and remove the rear service panel. To find out which wire is loose, check each wire systematically, once you have found the loose wire, either tighten or reattach it.
The location of your appliance can often cause problems, most refrigerators or freezers cannot safely keep food cold when its surrounding air temperature goes below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The lower the temperature in the surrounding air falls, the less often the compressor runs. With most refrigerators, when the surrounding air temperature dips below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, the compressor will stop and food within will spoil. Moving the refrigerator to a warmer location will often fix this problem without needing a repair technician.
Another easy repair involves a cracked gasket on the door. Without a tight-fitting gasket, electricity is wasted. Should you find the gasket has cracked and does not need to be replaced, simply roll the gasket open, apply some silicone caulk to the inside of the gasket and roll it back on.
Often, finding the problem is just half of the battle. Refrigerator or freezer repair can become a daunting task and the problem will worsen when it is not fixed properly. With many cases, if the condenser coils, compressor or condenser fan needs to be replaced, a professional repair service will need to be called.
